In many ways uplifting....
But Skye Marshall’s comments about “Becky needs to sit down” came off entitled and rude. There has always been very little opportunities for white women in the industry, due in part to the volume of them here and in the past because of the heavy number of roles given to men. Now add to that, a huge push for diversity casting and it makes it now more than ever horrendous for white women to be given even an opportunity to read. Just look at the numbers of white women paying $50 for a workshop as opposed to men and people of color. In just the other episode you see how a conservatory trained actress had to move to another state just to get an agent and a couple of co stars. Please Skye, we respect the difficulties of being a woman of color, but try to have some compassion and not name call. Your hustle is to be admired, however, there are many incredibly talented white women that can not even get seen for a non union commercial. And don’t get me started on the belittling comments about casting directors just being the people that tape things on the camera. 🙄
