Left, More Left and Center
This show is a must for any political junkie...or even the casually curious politico. Robert Scheer is truly a one-dimensional reactionary on the extreme left. His arguments almost always relate back to his perceived failings of the Bush administration or Republicans in general. His retorts and political insight, such as it is, are usually limited to name-calling and conclusions based on his theories rather than on articulable facts. That being said, he is very entertaining and perfectly represents the political far-left. Arianna Huffington’s best arguments and insights are offered when she is off in another dimension altogether and misses the show. (Which, thankfully, if fairly often.) She offers very little to the dialogue when she is on the air and, in my opinion, detracts from the show. She is not missed when she is frequently absent. Matt Miller is a very good moderator, but needs to participate more. (Getting rid of Huffington may make this possible.) He is articulate, insightful and, at least outwardly, not completely blinded by partisanship in forming his opinions. Tony Blankley is the star of this show. He is everything that you would want from a political analyst—a man of well-thought opinions who recognizes and is unafraid to call out the right, when necessary. I can’t wait to download each week.

But will someone please start keeping a tally of how many times Tony claims to have written about a subject in a previous column or "conjectured" something (to coin a phrase used on show 3.28.08 by the same)? I highly doubt that the lightning strike twice (or...Read full review »
