“Hi Grace, as a latecomer to Kdramas (though I have been a fan of South Korean cinema for almost two decades now), I really love your podcast. I listen to it while I make art (I am an emerging artist in Montreal) and I especially love your flash card questions and your insights into Korean culture. I’ve been saving some of the episodes of shows that are on my watchlist for later (Itaewon Class, Goblin, Something in the Rain, am in the middle of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay at the moment). As someone who grew up in Pakistan and only left there as an 18-year-old, some of the things I see in the dramas are reminiscent of what I grew up around, more specifically overbearing mothers-in-law, bratty boys, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. Still, your insights and reviews are wonderful. I especially came to seek out podcasts discussing My Lovely Sam Soon, after I binged it earlier this year, and I found yours. Love that show, have probably seen it more times than I can count, and I loved your take on it and your interview with Ben McLean. I also really loved your episode on My Mister, which might seriously be my favourite drama in any language of all time. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Crash Landing on You as well, so thanks so much for the amazing podcast.”
