“For investigative journalists, the hosts are completely one-sided about this issue. There should be other people talking about the case instead of just Chrystal. I really feel for her and her story breaks my heart - but I’ve no idea if she’s telling the truth. Also, they keep referring to her mental illness—but never say what her diagnosis is. This story would be much more compelling if other sides and voices were heard. The longer it went on, the more it made me wonder if I was hearing the whole truth.
And when Chrystal took the lie detector test I thought it was ridiculous. I’ve no doubt she thoroughly believes what she’s saying. But it doesn’t mean that’s what actually happened.
The journalists has an opportunity to give her story nuance and to show all sides. Instead they made me trust the story less because it was lopsided journalism. It’s interesting and I’m glad I listened - but it just wasn’t done as well as it should have been. My heart goes out to Chrystal. She has yet another set of people who may not be helping her as well as they should.”
