“I just so happened to be reading this series when my brother shared this podcast with me, and I’m so glad he did!
I’ve read this series multiple times, and listening to this in conjunction with my reading has given me a different perspective that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.
What made me actually write a review though, was their discussion about Susanna having sex with the demon and how Matt and Scott repeatedly referred to it as her being raped by the demon and I wholeheartedly disagree.
Susanna knew from the beginning she was going to have to have sex with the demon, so I don’t feel like you can call it rape. She brought Detta “in” to deal with the demon just in case it wanted sex with a woman, so in my mind, it was...calculated sex? Even when reading this book for the first time, I didn’t look at this as a “rape” scene.
This analysis aside, I really look forward to listening to this podcast every week and think it’s simply fantastic.
