Takes conservatism seriously.
A critical take on conservatism that nonetheless takes it seriously rather than use the working class or those with mental illness as cheap rhetorical punching bags. Important not only for understanding and fighting the authoritarian drift of mainstream conservatism, but also the same drift within the Democratic Party in its attempts to chase a rightward moving center. Not a happy podcast, but perhaps an inspiring one?

I stumbled on this during a Twitter rabbit hole. It's an amazing podcast. It's extremely valuable and enlightening to understand the right wing philosophy and drive. And most importantly... It's calm! Hope they do live shows!Read full review »

The hosts are scholarly without being tedious and the show is information-dense in a such a way that I want to listen to episodes multiple times, rather than turn it off! If only I could go back in time to ask my father-in-law why he was a citizen activist in this movement in the 60’s.

Smart, interesting, and nuanced. A serious look at the right and the left that doesn’t degenerate into us vs. them and easy cliches.
