Doctor Who but like for real life
I’ve only listened to the first episode and I really liked it. For me the strength of the podcast is kind of like following two aliens coming to Earth and trying to understand what the hell a “cruise” is. They come in with their own preconceptions, and their own flaws (some of them medical), and then they just kind of experience things. They talk to interesting people and really seem to wrestle with what they observe in others and themselves. Then they finish their cruise and are clearly off for another adventure in another place. Which works for me as a podcast. I read some of the low rating reviews, and I don’t think it’s fair to characterize the podcasters as snobs. I think that’s just a side effect of them being very open about the baggage they’re bringing to the experience. I don’t feel like anyone comes off as their best self if you’re being candid about your own prejudices. It’s brave and vulnerable of these two people. Seems like the format is two people, having adventures and talking to interesting people on the planet Earth. Like I said, Doctor Who but for real life. I’d say check it out.

The Money is Winning, Humans are Losing episode was especially good. A fascinating exploration into automation, capitalism, quality of life, and universal basic income. Andrew Yang was a great interview. Same for James Kaelan. Highly recommended.

These stories are good ones and is what I need during these crazy times. My eyes have been opened on a number of issues and made me look into criminal reform and poverty more closely. Thanks.

The 5th episode was an eye opening experience for me. It allowed me to understand something I have been trying to figured out about myself. Thank you! Keep going! 🙏
