Pretty good
Lake Clarity offers an interesting story with an enjoyable cast of characters. I liked listening to the group of friends interact with each other, however, this is probably the only real selling point I can offer. The voice acting (while thankfully it does offer a set of voices that contrasts from each other to avoid confusion) is okay at best when they are portraying having a good time with friends, but when scary or traumatizing incidents happen to them they only really sound “on edge” as if they are running late for an important meeting. The sound editing could use some improvement as well. It can be hard to tell exactly what’s happening or where exactly the characters are, or when the story is being recounted rather than lived in the moment. I can think of only a few moments where the audio peaked, but aside from that, it’s at a good level most of the time. The story, while it does take a little while to get rolling, is something I found myself easy to invest myself in. I really was interested to see how the sequence of events would unfold. Needless to say I did enjoy myself, and while I won’t be listening to the second season, I recommend it to anyone who wants something to listen to in the background, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I am really enjoyed the first season - it is basically a teen thriller set on an abandoned camp grounds. Not the best voice acting but still kept me interested!

Love the audio fiction podcasts and was looking for a new series. I liked the multiple actors which adds some depth to the story. The story itself was hard to get into with the campy storyline and weak acting. Couldn't make it past the first episode.Read full review »

You can tell this is fake due to the acting. Some of the acting is great but most of it sounds like someone is clearly reading lines from a page, kind of amateur. BUT the story does start to draw you in pretty quickly and once you’re hooked, it’s really fun to listen to.
