The Little White Mitten

Description
This week we bring you a very special story from the nation of Ukraine. This retelling of the popular Ukrainian children's story is in my own words and takes its lead from the wonderful 1989 version of the story from Jan Brett but some of the written records of The Mitten date back to the 19th century and include the folklore collections of Pavlo Chubynsky. A little boy loses his brand new mitten in the white snow and a succession of increasingly larger animals comically squeeze their way in to take advantage of the warmth. Will Nicki ever find his new mitten again, and if he does, what surprises will he find inside?! This story is dedicated to the people of the sovereign nation of Ukraine. We are back with this gorgeous classic tale with a twist. Well, I say with a twist but it may have been the later version of this tale that had a twist, as this is probably the original version of the story, originating in England in the 19th Century! We will all know the version of this story...
