Good storyline, but problematic
This podcast is interesting and the narrative is well put together. However, the language around criminals is classist and paints all people who commit crimes as terrible people when, as these journalists should know, America has 25% of the world’s prisoners. Moreover to say a life of crime is “equalizing” misses the dramatically unequal way that race impacts arrests and convictions. Moreover, those without the financial means to hire good lawyers are more likely to be convicted, so there’s also a class dynamic at play. So, I think it’s a good story, but these journalists are not careful with their language.

This lays out the heist so plainly yet at the end leaves its own air of suspense so the listener can’t wait for the next episode. Brilliantly produced.
