Description
Hey there, thank you for tuning in to this weeks episode! We truly appreciate you tuning in especially with everything that has been going on in the world. The last couple weeks have been really tough for us. Being black designers ourselves, it's been a bit difficult going about our daily lives with all that has been happening around the world in regards to police brutality towards innocent black lives. We've made it a point to educate ourselves, show our support, have needed conversations with peers and colleagues and, take care of our mental health by praying, meditating and taking some days off social media. Although we are happy about the attention that all black lives have been getting on social media, we do hope you all not only share the news but also show your support in anyway you can, whether it be donating or peacefully protesting. With this episode, we hope to inspire you and take your mind off things for a few minutes. I have a conversation with Ivie Ijewere, she is an architect and interior designer in Lagos, Nigeria and, she is my sister! Ivie has been one of my biggest motivators throughout my career, from teaching me Revit to making a way for herself. She received her Bachelors in Interior Design in Tampa and her Masters in Architecture from Miami, FL. She then moved back to Lagos, Nigeria because the fast paced culture in the construction industry allowed her to realize her dreams better. Ivie recently started her design firm, Vide Design Studio, along with her partner and friend, Ademide. On this episode, she shares with us some of the experiences they've had along the way and where they are headed. Enjoy! We appreciate every listen, share and follow! Stay safe!
