I am lucky in many different ways. Professionally, it has been a blessing to work with strong leaders and managers throughout my career. One of my leadership mantras today was shared with me by Karen Hollop, my manager in Corporate Accounting at Kraft Foods headquarters in Rye Brook, NY. Karen shared with me the parable of three builders.

When the first builder was asked by a passerby what he was doing, he answered: "I am laying bricks." The second person answered: "I am building a wall." And the third builder finally answered: "I am building a cathedral."

This parable is a constant reminder to me about the importance of Why in what I do, whether alone, with a team, or with my family.

This time, the guest in my leadership kitchen is one of the great examples of people who understand, share, and apply the Why in what they do. My guest is Oksana Krykun. With over five years in leadership positions in Product and Marketing, and experience working in both startup and enterprise environments, Oksana is currently the Head of Entrepreneurship and Acceleration at Innov8, where she develops Ukrainian deep tech startups. She also runs her own business, LVCA. Consulting, helping Ukrainian businesses scale up their product, marketing, sales, and business operations. Additionally, she manages the ProManagement YouTube edutainment channel for Ukrainian managers and practices coaching in her free time.
