Most useful podcast I have found
I have been trying to learn Spanish for a couple of years, using lots of different courses and methods, but I still felt there were things that had not properly sunk in and I was stuck for how to move on. That is, until now. The method used in these podcasts is unique and amazingly effective. Unlike other courses he doesn’t throw words and phrases at you, expecting you to memorise or copy, he starts with the most used words - those little words like “in”, of” and “that” - and how to form Spanish sentence structures. This is done right from the start to get you to speak and construct sentences like a Spanish speaker. He uses a mixture of English and Spanish in the sentences, and if this sounds odd to you, listen to his explanation. I found it weird at first but it really makes a lot of sense. For the words you do use, he has a clever way to get you to remember them and to practise the word positions, which he describes incredibly clearly so you understand where to put everything. I have listened to 9 episodes and have already learned so much and feel I am getting the tools I need to help me more readily know how to say things in a Spanish way, which I did not get in the previous years of study. I struggled with pronouns and with all the uses of “por” but have come away from here with a lot more confidence. I think that a complete beginner will really thrive with this teaching, and those, like me, with some prior knowledge will also get a lot out of it. I am really looking forward to learning more with this method, and unlike any other Spanish podcasts I am going to listen to every episode!

This is a step by step guide where each episode builds on the previous. Instead of learning a bunch of vocabulary, the process begins with the hardest part of the language - structure and grammar. Timothy explains the why and differences of the Spanish and English language in each episode. He...Read full review »

I’m only 2 episodes in so far, but I am really loving the way that Timothy is presenting the concepts for grammar. The potato head analogy in episode 2 was really creative and it also resonated with me so much! Thanks, excited to keep listening and learning along with you!
