Good podcast about (usually) older films
I’m biased because I’ve been a guest, but this is a well-produced and easy-to-listen-to podcast (especially with the fam because it’s almost always squeaky clean). The hosts that have some good insights into the generally pretty old movies they’re discussing. If you’re someone who’s trying to get into older films, I think it’d make sense to listen to at least the first half of a lot of their episodes before watching the movies they discuss, because they do a good job of filling in the broad strokes of their chosen films’ historical contexts. For instance, I’ve seen The Third Man, but I definitely didn’t have the historical context when I watched it, so listening to their episode where they went into that made me want to give it a rewatch (or at least wish I hadn’t seen it until listening to their episode lol). I do kinda wish they had a spoiler-free section at the beginning where they talked about the context of the film, and then said if they recommended it, and then got into spoilers, but I think it kinda naturally happens that way in some of the episodes I’ve heard anyways.

I appreciate that they discuss more than just the box-office hits of the past...Read full review »

I am always fascinated when I listen to two long time friends converse. (Yes, I eavesdrop). These two long time friends (74 years is what they say, but I’m guessing that they are not even half that age) are worth listening to for their back and forth witty comments, and then add to that an...Read full review »
