Nice, but too light

“I’ve listened to a handful of episodes and just finished the episode entitled “Church Hurt”. After listening to them end the conversation with the encouraging topic of ways the church is a blessing, they talk about their favorite season of the year and pumpkin spice lattes. There are some of us that are fighting on a weekly basis to be present in the church pews in a god-glorifying manner; and looking for empathy and wisdom from women that have experienced the tragic lows of being in church. After listening to their surface-level anecdotes, I feel encouraged to read the scripture that they reference, but more alone in my very present and confusing struggles. I guess I expected more from such wise women I look up too. I think they just wanted to keep things light and positive.”
