Vivid and charming
poignant account of an middle age American English teacher in China during the year 2000-200. The heart-warning stories capture his experience during a moment in time with engaging characters and observations of daily life. Exquisite quality and production with wonderful prose and story telling. Highly recommended.

I loved this book. It was very emotional and I found that I laughed and cried through the whole thing. I regretfully have to give it four stars though because I found the narrator to be a bit dull off the get-go, but got better as the story went on. Great overall though!!

This is an amazing true story of a kind hearted man and his experiences as a new English teacher in Beijing, China. Often funny, moving, touching, insightful and always very interesting. For me it was compelling listening and I cant recommend this enough.
