“I was one of those who said I don’t rate Danny Dyer. Hands up. Not just as an actor, but also as a person. Don’t know the man from Adam but we all do it, don’t we? Form opinions on little to no personal experience.
I have listened to all the L&LD episodes, and am truly hooked now. I mostly listen to crime podcasts so this was a departure for me. And I have to admit to myself, it’s good to listen to something a little more upbeat at times. I first heard a bit of it on Instagram.. and chuckled at something, so I thought I’d give it a chance. I haven’t laughed so much for ages. I genuinely feel like I am in a room with two mates, or down the pub chatting (esp with Danny and his brandy shots!) This podcast is brilliant actually. It’s organic, it flows naturally and Danny and Danni are perfect together. I saw a very short clip of them on gogglebox (talking about tv snacks) and thought they sounded funny and would make a good podcast. Well, they really do. If they don’t get a second series it’s a crime.
The time goes too quick, no sooner have you started chatting you’re winding up. The addition of the tumble dyer and dyer straits is really clever, it gives you a chance to tackle something a little more heavy, and mixes it up a bit. I am genuinely a Danny Dyer convert. The man is funny, sincere and the kind of plain speaking bloke we need right now. And I will Dyer on this hill!
I want to apologise for judging the man so harshly. Danny and Danni, well done and THANK YOU for bringing us a bit of light hearted entertainment.
