What is restorative rest?
Listen now
Description
On this episode of the podcast I discuss rest and restorative rest, what is the difference. Did you know that there are 7 types of rest? I didn't! well, definitely not  pre Long Covid.  I didn't understand what restorative rest was never mind the varying types that we need to maintain equilibrium. I talk about how many of us spend so much time burning energy but not restoring that energy, minds working overtime, screen time, overworking ourselves, physically, mentally or emotionally.  Now, Long Covid has slowed me down, certainly physically but does that mean I get restorative rest? the short answer is no. Lack of restorative rest impacts on our ability to preserve energy, implement effective pacing and could impact on the cycle of crash and relapse (boom/bust). This is very different for each individual and definitely not a cure, but having restorative rest can have the potential to help with our varying symptoms and help with some improvement in quality of life.  I hope this episode of the podcast is useful, thank you for all of the wonderful messages, and as always please take care.    My Links: https://linktr.ee/joulest https://twitter.com/julieTa58407536 https://www.facebook.com/livingwithlongcovid/ https://www.instasgram.com/julietaylor9545 https://amzn.eu/d/9v9MP4v https://amzn.eu/d/1QVK8zn - Return to work planner https://amzn.eu/d/a1Safxc - well-being planner https://www.julie-t.com/ - Julie Taylor life coaching website Long Covid Clinic (Julie Taylor & Dr Binita Kane - contact; [email protected] for more information
