In this episode of the podcast I talk with guest Rachel Jessey who is the owner of BeNourished. Rachel has been in clinical practice for 13 years and over the last 3 years has been heavily involved in the long covid space.
Rachel talks about how her interest developed in the oral, nasal and gut microbiome, and how her son was effected after being hospitalised with sepsis.
Rachel discusses how the various species within the gut microbiome have important functions within the body and how when these are depleted they have an adverse effect on immune function.
Rachel explains how the viral persistence from the gut systemically affects inflammation and platelets, and gives some information on what we can do to help our microbiome.
We discuss vedicinals, current research and detox protocols that Rachel is involved in, and this research will be available soon.
Rachel talks about the vagus nerve and its role within the body and how the vagus nerve can be supported along with other tips to help digestion and so much more.
This is a really interesting and informative episode. I hope you enjoy the podcast, and as always thank you for listening and take care.
