Jazz Chisholm, Jr., and Jake Burger homered, and the bullpen pitched 4 2/3 dominant innings to lead the Miami Marlins over the New York Mets 4-2 in the third game of their four-game series at Loan Depot Park in Miami. Jazz Chisholm hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, and Jake Burger added a solo shot in the 7th for Miami. azz went 2-4 on the way to his team-leading 26th multi-hit game. Burger is nine for his last nineteen with three home runs. J Burger is niXavier Edwards went 3-3, and Vidal Brujan went 2-3- including a double- for the Marlins. The Marlins Bullpen was the star of the show yet again, 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out nine and walking none. Declan Cronin, AJ Puk and Calvin Faucher each went an inning or more to get to All-Star Closer Tanner Scott, who pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up save number 16 on the season. Trevor Rogers started for Miami, going 4 2/3 innings and allowing both runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out five and walking two. Catcher Nick Fortes committed three errors for Miami. The Mets had eight hits- all singles- and struck out 13 times. Mark Vientos and Jose Iglesias had two hits apiece. The Marlins and Mets play the final game of this four-game series tomorrow in Miami, with first pitch set for 6:40 pm ET. Miami is 5-4 against New York this season. Yonny Chirinos (0-1) will start for the Marlins, taking on the Mets David Peterson, 4-0.
