Description
Jazz Chisholm, Jr.'s two-run double broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the red-hot Miami bullpen took it from there, as the Marlins beat the AL East leading Orioles for the second straight night at Loan Depot Park. Josh Bell had two hits, including his eleventh home run, Xavier Edwards went 3-3 with an RBI, Nick Gordon went 1-1 with an RBI, and Brian De La Cruz added an RBI single for the Marlins, 37-65. Edward Cabrera went 5 1/3 innings, allowing all three runs on just three hits, striking out six and walking four. Cabrera left with the bases loaded and a 3-0 lead, but Colton Cowser greeted Hector Brazoban with a bases-clearing double to tie the game and give Cabrera the tough-luck no-decision. Tanner Scott pitched another 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up his 18th save for Miami, with Andrew Nardi and Calvin Faucher each pitching a scoreless inning as well. The Marlins scored three runs in the fourth inning off Orioles Rookie Chase McDermott, making his MLB debut. Cowser had two hits and three RBI's for the Orioles, who have just one extra-base hit in the first two games of this series. The two teams wrap up this three-game series tomorrow, with Miami's Roddery Munoz (1-5) facing Baltimore's Corbin Burnes. (10-4) First pitch is at 12:10 pm ET.
