“Hey guys. Shout out to the whole crew you guys do a great job.
As a Mavs fan who came of age with the Mavericks ascension to contention (born in 1990, that Jazz playoff series comeback and win in 2000 was the first time I snuck out of my room to watch tv) I am curious how long it should take DSJ and The Don (Luca) time to mature into the type of players that could take a team to playoff and eventually championship contention potentially like Wall & Beal in DC or Lowry and DeRozen in Toronto. Wall was a 2010 draftee and Beal a few years later, and their first playoffs was 3-4 years go, so are we looking at contention in ‘22-‘23?
Not to mention everyone but Capela would be completely ineffective as a big by then...so I don’t think we should stop the rebuild just yet. I’m glad we got Luca, but my prediction is that we are pretty average to bad for 2 more years, get another piece i.e. Josh Howard circa 2003 to help our two stars.
I hope to hear the answer soon.
