Prepare for a lot of rambling.
I have been listening to: ‘look out sir’, since the very beginning. I will confess, the act of writing about my longstanding listener-ship briefly causes me to question my life choices. Yet despite this, I remain stubbornly without regret, at least with regard to this one life decision. Anyone who has read this far may wonder how a simple podcast could lead to such existential questioning- I shall explain- you see, this is no simple podcast, it is an epic podcast. Not epic in the sense of fantastic or world beating, but epic in the sense of being very long and containing many monologues. Indeed, the characters within its sometimes echoey recordings have taken on an almost legendary status; within their descriptions of themselves. You may be forgiven for thinking that I mean to be derogatory, I don’t, you see- I have fallen under the siren spell of this podcast and willing, nee slavishly, devote hours of every week listening to Dan mispronounce words and Phil somehow correct him with a further mispronunciation, listening to rambling about when Dan was good at 40K because he had a lot of flyers and how Phil would improve ‘guard. I do this not because I have some deeply buried sin that I must flagellate my ears in recompense for, but because despite all of their almost endless faults the terrible duo always leave me smiling and feeling better about the day. Keep it up chaps and please don’t change anything-other than perhaps trying to pronounce the ‘th’ in three. je ne regrette rien.

The guys are rambling and incoherent at times but it’s just perfect to have such a long shambolic deep dive into the hobby for the background of a work night or loooong painting session. Like the time you had to paint 2K worth of harlequins in a week for a tournament... hypothetically... who’d...Read full review »
