“Luisa sadly seems to have a pretty old fashioned and unsophisticated view on mental health issues. It’s a shame that she can’t take a more sensitive and balanced approach, given her power and influence in the public sphere. She does nothing to dispel the myth that mental health problems are the “fault” of the person experiencing them. She touts the idea that people can “fix” themselves with no consideration of the complex social and cultural factors that perpetuate people’s powerlessness and resulting distress. Her sense of entitlement to her views and insensitivity to the hurt they may cause others is promoted as being “free speech”. Very disappointing and unoriginal- I won’t be listening again.”
