Description
Lauren is the founder of The Wave & SWELL. She started her first podcast, Book Wine Club, in 2017 after a public speaking blunder that sparked a speaking phobia. As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, start a podcast about it! Rediscovering her confidence through podcasting encouraged her to share it with other women struggling to tell their stories. The Wave now serves more women than ever by providing educational resources and a digital community. In 2021, The Wave launched SWELL, the first podcast editing service for women by women. Lauren still pairs her favorite reads with a glass of wine. In this episode, we discussed: What happened when Lauren’s life-long dream no longer suited her Sophie and Lauren’s time together in school and their realizations that it was time to explore new avenues Lauren’s adventure into entrepreneurship and the lessons she learned along the way The challenges of redefining yourself when your identity revolves around your career The idea that there’s no such thing as one career or role for a lifetime that you can expect to fulfill you throughout life (especially having decided at 18) The experience that changed Lauren’s relationship with public speaking forever Lauren’s journey to creating her podcasting business How Lauren met and fell in love with her fiance (IRL!)
