“I am new to the Love Island universe, and in the real world I would avoid disingenuous people (Kendall) like the plague. Kendall has turned me off from the very beginning, but I am here for your unabashed support of his messiness for the show’s sake. I appreciate that y’all helped me to see that from an entertainment perspective, although I still fast-forward scenes with him in it whenever I can.
One thing I’m surprised y’all haven’t commented on, is the way Rob violates and tests boundaries with the bugs (and frog S5) when many of the women are clearly uncomfortable. In my opinion, it’s a way for him to test how much women will let him get away with. You mentioned the bugs, his D on D comment, and his comments about how he hadn’t ejaculated for awhile and his references to his erections, but not how that was him testing boundaries to see how women would respond. He also stonewalls women and makes them uncomfortable and nervous, which they might mistake for attraction. Whether he does it consciously or not, it’s a way to weed out women who are not swayed by his behavior. I have to say, it can be hard to see at times, and at 25 I would have fallen for it.
I love the collective discourse, and I have learned SO much from watching Love island, which was a welcomed surprise. Oh, and Ariana is everything. I’m so looking forward to next season!”
