This show is sooo frustrating and....
Okay so I tried to give this podcast a chance, their interview with David Graeber was my first episode, and I liked it. So I listened to a few more hoping I had found another great podcast that adequately displays and describes how “the Left” actually functions.... as it turns out, the only reason I liked the Graeber episode was because of Graeber himself. Here are some reasons I genuinely dislike this podcast and most of the hosts... 1. They don’t fully understand Marxism (what they claim to support). Angie especially seems to misunderstand what Marxism is about. For example, she said (I believe it was episode 38) that people like Joe Rogan yell and yell and are sooo reactionary because they are reacting to an occurrence within the capitalist system, and Rogan and others are also within the capitalist system so they have a angry reactionist response. She seems to think that marxists exist outside of the capitalist system... yet Marx himself stressed that the working class HAS TO live within the capitalist system to become oppressed by it and then rebel and over throw it. There are many other examples, just listen to how they describe Marxism, it is really flawed. 2. They don’t understand fascism either. The two main hosts, Angie and the American (it’s still unclear to me if it’s Peter or Jake, they don’t do a good job at introducing themselves), label everything as non-left as fascist, including traditional capitalist liberals. This is horrible reasoning. Fascism has a very distinct set of ideals that are found in specific circumstances (read “Anatomy of Fascism” by Robert Paxton if one is interested). Just because something is “further right” than “the Left” doesn’t make it fascist. Please read some political theory on fascism. 3. So much yelling. All the time. I can’t stand it because it’s impossible to hear what anyone has to say. Please listen to or read something else other than this garbage podcast if you want to learn about values of the left and problems with other political or economic philosophies.

This podcast does have urban and indoor applications. Every podcast, as a tool, is only limited by your imagination. My other podcasts, have for years, been used as a doorstop, for food prep, opening packages

While the hosts make good points here and there after listening to this show for a while I’ve personally concluded that there’s better shows to fill my long commutes with. #shouldajustkeptkickingyourselfintheballs
