“The left hates me” variety hour
Probably one of the saddest evolutions in podcasting. I really enjoyed it early on. I remember one episode actually helped talk me off a political edge when Angie was speaking about how important it is not to go full “doomer” amid all the political and social crises. But over the last while, it’s devolved into every other talking point being “the left is mean to us, but the right are so nice! uwu”. One of the most recent ones I listened to had Peter uncritically pointing to “research” that Russian meddling is just a psy op...literally just verbatim reading an article posted on a bunch of random borderline conspiracy right wing sites. Then 5 mins later, Angie is ranting about the meanies on the left and I just had to turn it off. Hey, maybe y’all are looking at the analytics and seeing that your audience prefers whining about the left and pushing contrarian perspectives. What I don’t see is the critical and helpful perspectives you all brought with the early days of the podcast. Now it’s just a farce.

Since you guys read these I just figured I’d bequeath you with my misquoted titles for Harry Potter all of which would probably make JK sad today. Harry Potter and the Marxist’s stone, Harry Potter...Read full review »
