“I’ve followed Anita on her Instagram account for a few months. It have Apple Podcast and have just followed the link. I need a new phone and have to delete these periodically as it takes my memory up. I have listened to the Introductory episode and this first one about the roots of luxury in the Indian or British Raj. I’ve heard a bit about that in the past. I’m sure the Swiss watch brands would like to cultivate India like they have been in China, as an emerging market with young professionals with surplus income. It heard the Audemars Piguet CEO: François Henri Bennahmias, saying that Indians would like to buy their watches, but they have no distribution network in India and advised them to access the brand outside of India. Perhaps Anita could get him and his very good Chief of Complications, Michael Friedman on this podcast? Anita is on the GPHG board, who judge and give prizes to watch brands every year in the autumn in Geneva, Switzerland. I see from this episode that Anita has been visiting Switzerland since 1997, visiting Baselworld 1997. So, she is very experienced and her podcast will be a good reference source of material on watches and other luxury goods that she covers. I have listened to other watch podcasts, notably ‘Calibre’ with Watches of Switzerland CEO and ex Ralph Lauren European Boss, Brian Duffy, who this year is on the GPHG panel. He is very knowledgeable and an expert interviewer of the CEOs of Swiss watch brands that I have heard on their podcast. I have also listened to ‘A Blog To Watch’ founder Aerial Adams’ podcast ‘Superlative.’ I like sources of information like this that give you: an outsider like me, an insiders’ perspective and knowledge and look forward to Anita’s series continuing weekly.
