“The M is for Mama book was something God brought into my life for specific encouragement. I always wanted to follow him wherever he called me but I came to a point of surprise when it was being a wife/mother mainly. I envision being a missionary or church plant wife or other things. So I was almost 30 with 4 kids and homeschooling and beginning to feel like I had lost the vision that God had for my life. I knew children are a blessing and I was doing something good but didn’t feel like I was doing something that important. Honestly I was getting tired of people viewing as “just a mom”
All this to say that Abbie’s book and podcast have reminded me to go back to that conviction of follow the Lord anywhere. To view myself as a daughter in Christ who is doing kingdom work that pleases the Lord. Just how Abbie talks so positively about her children and motherhood was deeply convicting. I realized over sleepless nights and toddler fits I had begun to view my children as burdens. So ultimately thankful to the Lord who works all this for good according to those that love him but I am thankful for Abbie’s faithfulness in what God called her to do. It helped me regain my vision and joy in motherhood. God uses stories so often to teach his children the way to go. Abbie and her husband and entire family’s story is a wonderful tale of God goodness in what the world might view as the opposite of goodness. So I’m not gonna be listening to those lies and continue to find encouragement in the Word, Gods church and all these wonderful women who have been through the trenches of motherhood with joy and have seen the fruit of faithfulness.
Thank you Abbie for taking time from your life to encourage others. It has truly been a blessing to me.”
