“Ive just listened up to S1E9, was loving it so far until this episode. I got a suggestion - please do not invite token female guests just for the sake of having a ‘female voice’. Don’te wrong, I am female, but I just think you guys have been doing amazing work and please do invite guests (regardless of gender) that add value. In that episode, she sounded like she didn’t even want to be there (sluggish voice) nor did she even like the show (if you cant get pass a show being ‘sexist’ because it was in the 60s then it’s hard to appreciate art as it is, further the show didn’t support sexism, an important theme of Mad Men is the raise of females at the workplace). I didn’t think she provided any value to your podcast. Rule no.1, dont invite guests that sound like they just gotten out if bed and cant really remember the show, nor does she sound like she even likes it or could provide deeper analysis.
I also think you guys dont’ need to be so politically correct. If you think January Jones isnt a great actress, just comment on it. Giving preferences to females for the sake of it is not really the way to go. All in all, a great podcast and analysis, I will keep listening and watching the show.”
