Ladies Special - Banat

Description
We declare the 2023 edition of Maed in India’s Ladies Special open for your listening pleasure! It’s our annual celebration of women in independent music in India, and our theme this year goes back to our country’s musical roots. We’re featuring artists who showcase India’s rich heritage through their identity, regional language or music style. To get this show on the road we have singer-songwriter and music educator, Banat. She talks about growing up in a traditional Punjabi household playing harmonium and kirtans at the gurdwara, from becoming a lawyer to a musician, and we find out that she’s working on a Punjabi folk album. She also treats us to her renditions of three Punjabi folk songs! Song List: Daachi Waaleya (02:00 - 05:31) Madhaniya (16:58 - 21:12) Ankhiyan Nu Rehn De (34:23 - 36:55)   Follow Banat: Instagram @beekaybeewrites Facebook @banat.bagga Twitter @banatbagga Partners: Shure The Ladies Special studio sessions were recorded using Shure mics and headphones. So if you think we sound particularly awesome, you now know why. When it matters most to you, rely on Shure to deliver an amazing sound performance, whatever stage you’re on.
