“My whole childhood revolved around the Magical World of Disney and Disney Channel / Zoog Disney movie nights. The movies, though not all as remarkable as I remember as a child, still hold a special place in my heart. Therefore I was thrilled when Will and Sabrina announced this podcast. I don’t have enough time to try and rewatch all the movies I remember from childhood so I was excited to have this podcast to revisit them through my daily work commute. Though the hosts have gotten slightly better than they were in the beginning, I’m continually disappointed by their negativity regarding the movies. They are always knocking the cgi and progressiveness of the movies (product of their time). They often say they can’t connect or relate. HELLO - these movies were made for children and not middle age adults. They “try” to imagine what they would have felt if they were children… it’s not working. Most of these movies were an escape for me as a child. They were supposed to be fun, and occasionally teach us about parts of the world and types of people we had never met. As adults, Will and Sabrina are too critical, biased, and expect too much from these movies. They can’t observe and experience these movies with the eyes of a child anymore.
The ads are beyond ridiculous. I understand they are trying to receive an income for the work they do (I understand and agree). However, five minutes of ads, nearly every ten minutes, is ridiculous. Yes, there’s a fast forward button, but if you’re wearing ear buds or not near your phone, it’s highly disruptive every time you have to stop and fast forward. I’ve never known another podcast to have so many and so long of ads.
And finally, the straw that broke the camel’s back: I can’t believe they would feature Kyle Massey on the podcast. It’s clear that it’s hard for them to get regular interviews with folk from the movies they review. But, I’m absolutely shocked and disgusted that they would associate with someone who was charged with interacting inappropriately with a minor. The actor claims it’s false but I have yet to see a judge clear him of any wrongdoing.
This podcast has become nothing but a cash grab. I don’t know what’s lower: the content or the integrity of the hosts / producers.”
