Description
After the death of Vichitraveer, no one was left to take on the mantle of the King of Hastinapur. Queen Satyavati, in her concern, ordered for the retrieval of Krishna Dwaipayana, the wedlock child of Shantanu Maharaj, for genealogy. Ambika and Amblika, both, gave birth to sons. Ambika was the mother to Dhritarashtra, whereas Amblika gave birth to two sons, Pandu and Vidhore. Growing up under the tutelage of Bhishma, all three of them became strong and capable of ruling the kingdom. However, due to the blindness of Dhritarashtra and the fact that Vidhore was a wedlock child, it was a challenging decision for Bhishma to make regarding who should be the next king of Hastinapur. Did Dhritarashtra feel despondent and jealous about Bhishma's decision? Did Pandu take up the right responsibility of ruling the kingdom?
