Hailing from the outskirts of London, UK, Jake’s first taste of backpacking came when inter-railing around Europe in 2014 and from then on he was hooked. Straight after finishing his studies at Oxford University, Jake spent 6 months working in Spain to pick up Spanish before spending 8 months backpacking across South East Asia and Latin America via a mix of rainforests, mountains, volcanos and deserts. A few years into knuckling down with his career and the travel itch needed scratching again. In 2022, just as borders began to fully re-open, Jake joined 2 friends for a 3 month road trip around Southern Africa, much of which was spent sleeping in a tent on the roof of their car in the proximity of lions, leopards crocs and hippos. He then followed that up with a return to his beloved Latin America for another 6 months, with highlights including a return to the Amazon and making it to the fauna paradise of the Galápagos Islands. Jake continues to take any opportunity for further travels to new places, with his country total now at a handsome 62.
