Rhyia’s first big backpacking trip was to China, where she camped overnight on The Great Wall, did the world’s highest bungee jump and learnt kung fu in Shaolin. Falling in love with a culture so different to hers, coming from the UK, Rhyia knew she had to keep exploring new places. When Rhyia graduated from university, she volunteered with marine life for a month in The Maldives, showing people that you don’t have to wait until your honeymoon or winning the lottery before going! Her next major trip was to Australia and Indonesia where she escalated her career in content creation, working with companies such as Greyhound Bus and Diver’s Den, where she spent 4 nights on a live-aboard, diving 4 times a day and night diving with sharks. With plenty of shorter trips in between, Rhyia’s latest adventure was in Brazil, where she para-triked and helicoptered around Christ the Redeemer, conquered Rio’s hardest hike and simply fell in love with the vibrant culture and it’s incredible people. With Brazil boasting a catalog of extreme sports and adventure excursions, Rhyia is making it her mission to showcase that via her instagram, YouTube and career as a freelance travel journalist. Next up, she’ll be surf-touring Spain and potentially the rest of the European coast in her self-converted van. But with her mind set on heading back to Brazil, we won’t have to wait long to see more of what this underrated country has to offer.
