Description
Welcome to the first edition of the Chick Flix Film Club! A programme presented by She Sources and Making It: Women in Film, airing the first Monday of every month.
This month we are talking about Moxie (2021, dir. Amy Poehler, av. Netflix) and Yes, God, Yes (2019, dir. Karen Maine, av. Netflix) - both dramedy-coming of age movies with girls in the lead. One is about being introduced to feminism and building a movement, the other about discovering and exploring ones own repressed sexuality and sensuality as a woman in a religious environment. Every month, we want to take a deep dive into so-called "feminist films" and discuss whether or not they hit the mark. So are these two movies feminist? Let's find out! (Spoilers ahead)
