While getting a refresher on Culturally Responsive Education, I realized how much the strategies in Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain match up with Building Thinking Classrooms, but Culturally Responsive Teaching was written at least 5 years before BTC. Math is often a subject that is not known to be “Culturally Responsive.” Then why does BTC seem to work so well?
