THE OMEN FRANCHISE MARATHON The only film to my knowledge to be solely made because of the novelty of it's release date - having come out 06/06/06; what a hell of a time. The Omen sees on one fateful night, the rebirth of the antichrist... coming in the form of a small child named Damien. [Liev Shreiber]'s perfect, wholesome and almost soap-opera-like life gets completely torn apart, when he realises his son may be more than what he thought he was... This sounds a bit familiar. Rhys and Kane essentially rewatch the original Omen, with a new fresh coat of paint that honestly suits the franchise far far less than the intentional grittiness of the first dive into the family of Damien Thorn. We do have Julia Stiles, Liev Shreiber and David Thewlis to accompany this new coat of paint, but is it enough?
