She has been advocating for animal rights for 15 years, starting her involvement in the movement as a teenager and playing a key role in its development in Estonia. Her organization was awarded the title of the best NGO in the country in 2019, and she herself received the best volunteer coordinator award from the president of Estonia the year before. In addition to her animal welfare work, Kristina has conducted sociological research on slaughterhouse workers and fur industry representatives, and is currently working on a project investigating social norms surrounding meat eating.
