The Real Deal
Left/right and Dem/GOP are increasingly useless and counterproductive ways of understanding how power is really exercised in America. Master Plan bypasses that outmoded framework and instead analyzes the way power is negotiated between the real players—how it’s acquired, maintained, and expanded in ways that have little or nothing to do with school grade notions of civics and democracy (or with the best interests of ordinary people). Think of the podcast as an exploration of what George Carlin meant when he said “It’s a big club—and you aint’t in it.”

When people ask how everything in the U.S. got so, so bad — tell them to listen to this. A rigorously researched, captivating, story about how our country was captured by corporate interests.
