The Real Deal
Left/right and Dem/GOP are increasingly useless and counterproductive ways of understanding how power is really exercised in America. Master Plan bypasses that outmoded framework and instead analyzes the way power is negotiated between the real players—how it’s acquired, maintained, and expanded in ways that have little or nothing to do with school grade notions of civics and democracy (or with the best interests of ordinary people). Think of the podcast as an exploration of what George Carlin meant when he said “It’s a big club—and you aint’t in it.”

Really enjoying listening to this. Amazing journalism, great storytelling, easy-listening but very informative! Fans of Slow Burn will definitely enjoy this.

Excellent content, but I would really, really have appreciated more dates being added for key moments. This would have anchored the content and allowed it to flow more coherently. As it is, I constantly hear the mental static of, “now when was this exactly?” Thank you for the podcast!

A great compliment to works such as Democracy in Chains and anything Jane Mayer has written about the Kochs.
