consistently great discussion of a great anime!
I adore HXH but it’s been a while since I last watched it, so I’m having a blast getting to relive a longtime favorite series via this thoroughly excellent podcast. The hosts are super funny and thoughtful, insightful in their character analysis especially (& I’ve never listened to Friends At The Table but I’ve heard it focuses on worldbuilding specifically, and that passion clearly comes through in the way they discuss Togashi’s worldbuilding as well!) Also, the format of having one newcomer to the series watching spoiler-free with their friends who have already seen it is VERY fun, and makes the podcast accessible to both camps of people. Loving all the eps so far and can’t wait until they cover the Chimera Ant arc even if it’s literal years away lol <3

I am delighted to hear The Friends’ take on a most beloved show! I’m looking forward especially to everyone’s thoughts on the differences between the 1999 and 2011 animes. Also these folks just exude joy and whimsy in whatever they do and I love them for it. Incredible vibes all around! <3

Came to the show through Friends at the Table. I had missed HunterxHunter and was under the impression it was a weaker show. Turns out I’m an idiot and having the chance to work through it slowly with some funny, insightful guides is the perfect way in.
