Smooth Spoken Joe Knows Where To Go
If you’re going to listen to exactly one podcast this year, make it any one of Spoken Joe’s episodes about Rock and Roll and the History of the Top 40. And if you’re planning to make podcasts a New Year’s resolution, this series is a great place to start! Having been born in ‘67, I always assumed that Casey Casum created the Top 40 sensation. Spoken Joe Williams, has proven otherwise, and has shared his own love of music nostalgia and trivia in a beautifully presented series of Top 40 stories. You will especially enjoy some of Joe’s own musical interludes that pepper the podcasts as he counts down the Top 10 of his carefully selected weeks of chart toppers. And in addition to some Doo-wops, Joe brings a new dimension to music trivia, showing us his knowledge of non musical history surrounding the early years of Rock and Roll, such as the nascent space program — something that those of us who know Spoken Joe also know he holds near and dear. Joe’s expansive knowledge is what makes his best feature, “Memory Jogger,” so unique. Thank you Joe for expanding our knowledge with your boogie woogie beat walks and enthusiasm for the golden age. I can’t wait for the 60’s and The Beatles!!
