“I went in expecting it to be some unhinged wack job and was just there to watch the fireworks. In reality, it’s one of the best sports podcasts I’ve ever listened to. You can’t get the honest, behind the scenes commentary that you get here like you can anywhere else. And in addition to that, there are so many great players, teams, and coaches that he experienced firsthand.
I also get the sense what’s painted about him in the media isn’t 100% true, though I imagine he’s not completely innocent of everything (the texts with his wife that were released were pretty damning).
I do wonder if this podcast wouldn’t be better served marketing itself as more of what it is, which is the best college football insight you can find anywhere, rather than the whole Menace 2 Society angle. I get what his overall point with it is, but I feel like it would appeal to more people with a name that is more fitting with the contents of the show.”
