Very Promising …. but could be better.
I am a big fan of “The Middle” and am thrilled that Eden and Brock are doing this podcast. I appreciate their enthusiasm - and their easy rapport and affection with each other. And they have good instincts when it comes to what is going to be interesting to listeners. Two points of criticism: 1) I get a little frustrated when they do what I like to call The Oprah Echo. In her talk show, Oprah Winfrey would often fall into the pattern of repeating the last words of whatever her guest had just said - for no particularly good reason except to perhaps allow her some extra moments to formulate her next thought. Eden and Brock often engage in a similar sort of repetitiveness. One of them will say “That was epic!” and the other will says “Epic!” You can certainly agree with each other without resorting to this kind of parrot repetition. And 2) At the risk of sounding like Dana Carvey’s Church Lady, I really dislike that this podcast utilizes Explicit Language. The original show didn’t need the F-Bomb- and neither does this podcast. (I won’t monetarily support this podcast until it cleans up its act.)
