“it was many years ago I stumbled across the AT whilst out in NH visiting friends, as we were near Hanover it led me to learn about Bill Bryson. A trip to a local book store starting my love of this trail, A Walk in the Woods was just the beginning.
We skip forward over 20 years, podcasts hit the scene, YouTube is a thing and I became more entranced by this trail as the years go by.
I can’t stand camping, heavens my family knows that! But the AT is calling and I can embrace trying something I’d previously worked so hard to avoid.
I’ve lost a lot of faith in the human spirit of kindness, and openness, is it me that has changed my view or has the world changed around me.
Discovering Mighty Blues podcasts is serving only to deepen the desire to thru hike the AT, facing head on everything I’d tried to avoid, forego the comfy bed, security of brick walls and certainty of there being a delicious breakfast in the cupboard. I don’t know what it is I’m looking for, but I sense the AT will guide me to where I need to be.
Thanks Mighty Blue, your impact is immeasurable.”
