“Tapping away at my computer working on a mundane Tuesday project (think boring legal brief), I came across this unexpected podcast that explodes my idea of the finite nature of a "completed" work of art. Mike Ruiz's app conjures futuristic images of art collectors who will have multiple flat screens on their walls each dedicated to a specific and iPads on their cocktail tables dedicated to specific topics, each displaying completely dynamic works that the artists themselves are changing & uploading while giving the consumer the opportunity to download the newest iteration of any given work. As I imagine turning on my coffee-table book iPad and seeing that my favorite artist has decided to add a mole to the face of his subject or has added a housefly to a still life, I am inspired by the future possibilities that the marriage of art and technology have to offer. Imagine!
What an unexpected treat!”
