Host is insensitive, mocking, & overly-dramatic
The stories are interesting but the host is very insensitive with her ridiculous overly-dramatic voices that can sometimes even seem mocking. None of the popular, professionally produced true crime podcasts have hosts that do this. Additionally, at no time should the host assume a victim said something or imitate (poorly) what they believe the victim or even perpetrator, said. Margo can be a bit misogynistic as well; saying things like, a woman caused a man to commit murder or made him go crazy, puts blame on the woman when it is clear that the murderer (the man) is likely psychopathic and manipulative. She also makes multiple references to a victim being raped but never refers to it as rape, instead just says that she was “forced to have sex.” Many of the bigger words/terminology she says are used incorrectly and she uses “I digress” so often that it seems like she only recently learned the term and wants to show it off. Words are often mispronounced, which makes the production seem lazy and unprofessional. It’s not difficult to research the proper pronunciation of words before recording the show. Our entire office has stopped playing this podcast due to all of these issues.
