RESPECT!
I, like alot of Native Floridians, have a very deep passion for the Florida keys and lower keys fisheries. I’ve spent SOME time there, not enough by any means, taking in all that it has to offer. Fishing was a very deep passion for my Father, brother and I and I cherish all our fishing memories from the Keys! I’m now 48 years old and I split time between Florida and Austin, TX, business and life has taken me this direction, but I KNOW, someday I will be a keys homeowner. This podcast makes me feel like I am becoming even more deeply attached to Islamorada in particular, but all of the Lower keys. I truly wish I had moved there 20 years ago and gotten to know all these guys that are guest on your podcast! I sit in my office after everyone has gone home and listen to them as I close out my days. With the TV shows all these guys, and you Andy, have done throughout the years, I feel like I’ve been there all along and can’t wait to get down there next time to fish with some of the incredible guides that have spent their lives learning and most importantly, RESPECTING the history of these fisherman. I can’t thank you and all your guests enough for creating and being guests on this podcast! I have been very fortunate to fish with Jared Raskob, someone I truly admire, not just for his guiding/fishing talents and tournament victories, but I enjoy watching his life down there with his family and how they embrace the keys lifestyle and sheer enjoyment of life in general. I’ve fished with Paul Tejera in Biscayne Bay with my father before he passed, truly an amazing dude, still to this day the biggest bonefish I have ever caught….Obviously, like soooo many, I grew up watching Flip and when I message Flip through Instagram, he always reaches back out to me and thanks me for my kind words about his adventures! Guys like Nathaniel Linville and Brandon Cyr, who I would LOVE to fish with and learn from and hearing their stories and watching their lives, makes me wanna get down there even more and hopeful to fish with some of these amazing people! I just listened to the Rob Fordyce podcast. I have admired Rob forever, he’s a legend like so many of your guests, some that I have never heard of and I am glued to the speaker listening to their stories and the TRADITIONS of keys guides and how they became friends and mentors and sometimes rivals! I have been in the golf business most of my life and that has got me in front of so many tremendous icons in the game of golf. Through golf, I did get to meet Jose before he passed at Doral Resort in Miami. Spanish Fly was my all time favorite show and meeting Jose was even better than meeting the best golfers in the world. When Rob Fordyce was speaking of Jose, I shed a tear thinking of the great human that he was so close with. PLEASE keep up the great work with the podcast, if I could give it a 10 star rating, I definitely would! Hope to see you guys on the water down there soon! Chris Dempsey
