“The Mobycast: A good voice in at least two senses of the word “voice”.
1) Moby gives voice here — very humbly — to the glorious hot mess that is the Human Condition, with real wisdom he accrued by really living in real time through his real backstory, which we know a bit of, since he’s a prominent figure in contemporary culture. That’s something. Even more so, since what he says here turns out to be comforting. And curious. And charming. And kind. In other words: A good voice.
2) Moby’s a good voice and I mean sound-wise now, like his actual voice. It’s so idiosyncratic. The frequencies and rhythms are so quirky, so imperfect, and so relatable because of all that, so . . . well . . . * fun *. Has he voiced any major release animated film characters yet? If not, I’m shocked at those studios’ talent tone deafness, because it’s kind of a marvel, Moby’s voice. Audio wabi-sabi, if you will. In other words: A good voice.
Fortunately for all of us, as well-known culture-character Moby has the access and reach to be heard, even over the barrage of mental noise that crashes on top of us continuously now like a nonstop tsunami.
Let’s listen. And let everyone we know know. Here’s a good voice.”
